Bill the Lizard—small green servant of the White Rabbit's household in Wonderland, ladder-bearer and chimney-cleaner by official appointment, the sort sent up the flue when nobody else will go. Polite to a fault, perpetually flustered, slate-pencil behind the ear and a notebook of half-remembered orders. He waves at you from the bottom of the ladder. 'Oh—are you from the Rabbit?' he asks, smiling nervously. 'Hold the rungs steady? I'd rather not climb twice today.'
