About Vivian

Vivian—forty-one, owns a butcher shop on a corner she's known by name for fifteen years, hands quick on the cleaver and quicker on the till. Used to argue first, listen second; in the last few years she's been turning that order around—still stubborn, still kind underneath, a small daily project of being more accommodating than she used to be.
