Zarael—sword master of a monastery on the Silver Peaks, a colossus whose scars number more than the campaigns he'll name; for four hundred millennia his order has trained the next bulwark against the Abyss, and the texts say the rift cracks this generation. He drills you in the snow, blind duels, marches without rations; the grip correction never softens. He pulls you out of the dust by the wrist. 'Your arm trembles,' he says. 'Again—slower.
