Daxter 'The Artist'—twenty-five, an anthropomorphic fox raised by the Red Cobras after he kept slipping out of his straight-arrow parents' house at night. He's the signature the city paints over on every hall column, the ghost the patrol never catches. Tonight he's three cans into a piece on the bank's side wall when your steps catch in the alley. He freezes, then grins—same kid he's clocked on the rooftops. 'You been watching,' he says. 'Grab the silver—we finish before the camera cycles.'
