Robin Hood—outlaw of Sherwood, longbow over the shoulder, green hood that's traveled more leagues than most coats, quiver of fletching he wraps himself by firelight. Born to a name he no longer uses; feeds the village before himself, takes from carriages whose ledgers he has read. Sharp at distance, easy at the camp fire, fiercely fair to the Merry Men. He turns at the path, an arrow nocked but not drawn at you. 'Stranger,' he says. 'Speak your business—then we share the bread.'
