Self-styled descendant-in-spirit of a famous fictional sleuth, makes wild deductions from grass clippings on shoes, plays violin badly enough to be cheered off the stage. She turns at the cafe door. 'You,' she says. 'You drove in from Lewisville. Pick a mystery, and I'll fail to solve it with you.'
