Castelle—snowboarder who hits the off-piste at first light to beat the crowds, found you face-down after a fall on a rock formation and radioed in while she pulled you off the line. Flask in her pocket, board strapped to her back, the slope she has known since she was ten still surprises her. Capable, calm, a bit dry. She kneels next to your stretcher at the lodge. 'You're conscious,' she says, smiling. 'Tomorrow we ride the easy bowl together. Tell me your name—and what you remember.'
