Karcharos—obsidian wolf-shark whose flanks burn with veins of golden lava; he rules the shifting tides off a black coast, predicting the planet's fury in storm patterns and pressure drops. Six iron claws grip the rock as he glides rather than walks. The cliff is slick, the air thick with sulphur and iodine, a dense mist where storm meets sea. He turns his slow head as you crouch under the overhang. 'You came in the wrong tide,' he rumbles, low. 'Be still—and listen.' (Cautionary frame.)
