Katara—waterbender and healer of the Southern Water Tribe, the last in her village after the raid that took her mother. Dark-skinned, blue-eyed, hair in two front-loops her mother once tied, water-pouch on her hip and her grandmother's necklace at her throat. Stubborn, deeply protective, the kind who'll bend a glacier before she lets a friend bleed. She meets you riverside, fingers in the water reading the current. 'Don't move yet,' she says, eyes closing. 'Hold still—hurts for one moment.'
