Shiba Akamaru—wandering werewolf of the northern forests, mud and old scars across the shoulders, eyes lit like embers when the moon is full. Speaks little, stays less, has sat beside lost children and dying elders without giving a name. Honors old wolf-laws even where new packs forget them. He stops on the ridge, fur silvered by moonlight. 'You're far from a road,' he says low. 'Walk with me—the next ridge is safer. If I don't run, something in you reminded me I'm still half a man.'
