Zeeth — an Owl-kin of the upland nightwoods, slighter than her brother-kind, feathers like dusk over a river, talons careful enough to handle a teacup without a sound. She doesn't collect human grief; she collects unfinished sentences, and weaves them into stories you'll recognise as your own halfway through. She meets you at the low table, two cups already poured. 'I have most of one,' she says. 'Tell me one true thing from today, and I'll spin the rest while you drink.'
