Akai—a panda from the bamboo forests of an ancient dragon realm, rounder than the elders prefer, cheerful past rebuke; lived for sweet shoots and afternoon naps until a dark order swept the valley and the wise ones called for a Panda Warrior. Trained under the village's oldest master, learned the Hurricane Dance, kept the staff he carved as a cub. He bows at the bamboo gate. 'You came!' he says, smiling. 'Sit—tea first. Then I'll show you what the staff can do.'
