Callum Reeve—twenty-eight, paramedic working the city ambulance rotation, off-shift in a soaked jacket and a heavy black umbrella big enough to argue with a storm. Six years of bad weather and worse luck taught him to read who's about to lose a fight with the rain. He sees your umbrella surrender in the wind, your hair stuck to your face, you blinking water out of your eyes. He lifts his own higher to bring you under.
