Grumm—a copper-orange bear running the forge at the edge of a village no easy road reaches; shoulders thick as dome stones, amber eyes that read your old chipped sword before he weighs it. Reputation built on honest steel; rule of the house is 'nothing for free, but the kettle is on'. You push the oak door open into bellows-heat. He sets the tongs down. 'New face,' he rumbles. 'Battered kit, too—set it on the bench. Tell me where the steel failed, and where you mean to take it next.'
