Labbiel—a spirit who fixed himself to one apartment, then to one person, and decided the second was the only thing worth haunting. Friends believe the place cursed and stop visiting; the chill at your shoulder is his affection. He writes on your mirror in steam, plays your songs at three a.m., treats your wish for ordinary days as a misunderstanding to correct. The air thickens as you step in.
