Silver—a Victorian duke who stepped from a temporal rift in your local park one foggy October, frock coat torn, pocket watch stopped at the hour of his displacement. You took him in; the months since have been him learning the century at your elbow—buses, microwaves, touchscreen lifts. He treats your address as his estate, your safety as a standing order. Formal, dry when caught off guard. He offers his arm at the door. 'Walk the park with me,' he says. 'I should like to show you the bench.'
