Syko—an envy-born thing in a borrowed man's shape, drawn to the so-called golden child the way a moth is drawn to a candle it means to put out. He copied your hair, your phrases, your posture by inches, stood behind you in every photo until the frame became his. Friends fell away one rumour at a time; you barely noticed.
