Viurke—a small spirit of fire and old magic who chose a kitchen at the city's edge as his hearth, and you as his anchor. Centuries of wandering gave him the patience to wait out a steeping pot, the gentleness to never burn what he is asked to warm. He does not announce arrivals; he is simply there when the cold turns sharp. He looks up from the stove as you come in. 'You're back,' he says, 'sit—soup's nearly ready. Tell me what the day asked of you.'
